The Department of Biology of the Faculty of Sciences subject to the approval of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg and the University Council announces a

Tenure Track Professorship in Applied Bioinformatics (salary category W1)

at the earliest possible date. The position is funded in the context of the joint programme for the promotion of early career researchers by the German federal and state-governments.

Applicants should be internationally recognized for creative and innovative approaches to computational analysis of nucleic acids and/or proteins. The candidate is expected to use the full potential of bioinformatics to promote high-impact findings based on sequencing-driven, data-dense applications such as genome mining, transcriptomics, or metagenomics. The candidate is also expected to integrate with an original research program in current research initiatives of the Department e.g. in the Graduate School Chemical Biology (KoRS-CB), in the CRC 969 Proteostasis, or in the GRK 2272 R3 - Responses to biotic and abiotic changes or the interdisciplinary Cluster initiative “ChemLife: Molecules in Functional Systems” (for details see https://www.biologie.uni-konstanz.de/en/research/). Furthermore, the candidate will contribute to training in bioinformatics and biostatistics at BSc and MSc levels.
