W1 professorships are to be filled by the earliest possible starting date for an initial period of three years. Upon successful evaluation, the appointment will be extended for another three years. FAU offers the long-term perspective of a permanent appointment to a W2 or W3 professorship if the requirements of the tenure evaluation are met.
 
W2 professorships are to be filled by the earliest possible starting date for an initial period of six years. FAU offers the long-term perspective of a permanent appointment to a W2 professorship if the requirements of the tenure evaluation are met.
 
We seek to appoint top early career scholars who will develop outstanding expertise in the field. The professorships are financed with funds from a Federal and State programme for supporting young researchers at German universities. All professorships are intended to make significant contributions to the FAU key research priorities. This call for applications addresses outstanding early career scholars with the ambition of developing their own profiles and careers as part of the strategic development of a key priority in cooperation with renowned scholars at FAU (‘Open Topic Tenure Track’). The positions announced in this call for applications will strengthen research and teaching in the field ‘Translational Health Research’. The successful candidates will be invited to play an active role in the FAU key research priority ‘Medicine, Life Sciences and Health’.
 
The Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology invites applications for a W2 professorship in the Department of Psychology. The successful candidate shall represent psychology adequately in research and teaching. We welcome applications from individuals with expertise and research activities in the field of "Translational Health Research", specialising in health psychology, especially in the field of "Behavioural Health Technology". Internationally visible research and experience in acquiring competitive third-party funding are desirable.
 
The Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology seeks to appoint a W1 professorship in the Department of Psychology. The professor will contribute to the field of "Translational Health Research" in research and teaching, particularly in the fields of developmental psychology, developmental psychopathology and educational psychology. Internationally visible research achievements and experience in acquiring competitive third-party funding are desirable.
 
For both professorships, the candidate must be willing to participate in teacher training in psychology at FAU. Preference will be given to candidates who are willing to contribute to the research focus area of the Faculty "Health over the Life Course". The Department of Psychology encourages transparent and replicable research and pursues these objectives with open data, open material and pre-registration. The Faculty of Sciences invites applications for a W1 professorship for Structural Proteomics at the Department of Biology. Working in the area of ‘Translational Health Research’, the successful candidate will make a positive contribution to research and teaching predominantly in the area of proteomics. In the long-term, the professor is expected to participate in teaching biochemistry. It is hoped that the successful candidate will make a contribution to the Faculty’s research focus area ‘Integrated Molecular Life Sciences’ and become involved in interdisciplinary research networks and degree programmes. We expect applicants to have conducted internationally visible research and have experience in competing for third-party funding.
 
Successful candidates for W1 professorships demonstrate initial academic achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international standards. You have substantial research experience abroad and/or experience in managing research projects and in raising third party funding. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree as well as a passion for education and pertinent teaching experience, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Successful candidates for W2 professorships demonstrate excellent academic achievements in research and teaching at the highest international standards. You have substantial research experience abroad as well as experience in managing research projects and in raising third-party funding. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree as well as a passion for education and pertinent teaching experience, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. We also expect the candidate to demonstrate excellent postdoctoral qualifications which may also have been acquired in a non-university context.
