Junior Professor in “ Flows and Dynamics” (W1 with Tenure Track W2)

funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States (”WISNA”) to start as soon as possible.

The junior professorship is located at the Institute for partial differential equations within the Carl-Friedrich-Gauß-Fakultät. The successful candidate is an excellent and visible junior researcher with research focus in an active branch of partial differential equations and their numerics with relevance for applications in engineering, in particular in fluid mechanics, continuum mechanics, biology, chemistry and physics. Experiences in the scientific cooperation with engineers are desirable.

The successful candidate shows high potential for strengthening and enhancing the research profile of Institute for partial differential and actively contributes to the research fields in the focus of TU Braunschweig. Research interests connected to further institutes of the Department of Mathematics are desired. Open-mindedness towards cooperation with applied sciences and coordinated research efforts supporting the TU Braunschweig is indispensable. First activities towards acquiring third-party funding are necessary.

The TU Braunschweig attaches importance to excellent teaching, and it is mandatory to offer lectures for engineering students as well as for students in mathematics and to engage in the international study programme CSE (computational science in engineering).

The junior professor´s initial appointment is limited to three years. After a positive evaluation, the appointment will be extended by three more years. In accordance with the tenure track statues of TU Braunschweig, the appointment will be tenured at the level W2 after a positive final evaluation. The requirements of the position are defined in Section 30 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz).
