This is a junior professorship appointment with a tenure track career path towards a W2 professorship. The position is funded by the Tenure Track Program of the German federal and state governments. We are seeking qualified applicants for teaching and research in the area of Construction and Design. The starting date is 01.10.2020. The responsibility of the Junior Professor is to establish construction teachings within current construction topics in a research field. The focus should be on the area of new natural and wood materials, or alternatively in intelligent simplicity, adaptivity, prefabrication, or new CO₂-reduced construction methods. The faculty expects that the research has to be connected with basic construction teachings. An interdisciplinary approach through co-operations with the faculty of Construction Engineering and participation in one of the profile areas of the RWTH Aachen University, such as Materials Science & Engineering/Production Engineering, is expected.

You should have a completed university degree and a special aptitude for scientific work which is generally verified by means of an outstanding doctorate. Ability in and commitment to teaching are essential. The application should include supporting documents regarding success in teaching. German is not necessary to begin but will be expected as a teaching language within 5 years.

Proof of outstanding architectural-artistic performance may be sufficient as a hiring condition pursuant to § 36 (2) Hochschulgesetz NRW dated 31.10.2019.
