Professor (W1, tenure track) of Educational Sciences with a focus on Adult Education and Organizational Research

in the Institute for Social Pedagogy and Adult Education at the Faculty of Educational Sciences. This civil servant or public employee position will start as soon as possible.

This professorship is funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States. It is a tenure-track position for an initial six-year term. If tenure is approved at the end of the term, the position will be made permanent and promotion to the rank of Full Professor (W2) will be granted. This position is open to individuals in the early stages of their academic career.

The successful applicant should represent educational sciences in research and teaching, be anchored in adult education and have a focus on organizational research. The aim is to investigate institutional and organizational frameworks of professional action as well as adult learning.

In addition to a very good doctorate in Educational Science/Adult Education, proven expertise in organisational theory and experience in the execution of empirical research projects are expected. Participation in cross-institutional and interdisciplinary research initiatives, interest in internationally visible research and links to the research priorities of the department, for example organisational aspects of transitions in the life course, upbringing and education of the generations or Educational Digital Studies, are desirable. The range of courses is aimed at Bachelor‘s/Master‘s students in Education.

The formal hiring requirements are defined in sections 67, 68, and 70 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
