commencing as soon as possible. The successful candidate will specialize in research and teaching in the field of Process Automation Systems. TU Dortmund University is seeking an outstanding individual and established scientist in the field of Process Automation Systems.

Potential teaching and research topics are dynamics, control and real-time optimization of processing systems and the technology of process automation systems with application in (bio)-chemical engineering.

Applicants have a track record of international publications in peer-reviewed journals and proceedings. Experience in the acquisition and/or participation in funded research projects is required. 

Applicants are expected to complement the research activities of the Department of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering and contribute to interdisciplinary collaborative research projects within TU Dortmund University.

The subject is taught in German and English in Bachelor and Master courses. An adequate contribution to the department’s curriculum is expected.

The successful candidate possesses the necessary social and leadership skills and is willing to participate in academic self-governance.

The recruitment requirements are based on § 36 and § 37 HG  NRW (law governing universities in NRW). The appointment is initially for five years as a temporary civil servant. At the end of this five-year period at the latest, the tenure track will lead to continued employment as a tenured W3 university professor, provided that the necessary aptitude, competence and academic performance have been demonstrated and that the legal requirements pertaining to § 38 HG NRW are met.
