PROFESSORSHIP W1 WITH TENURE TRACK TO W3 IN THE DOMAIN OF OPERATING SYSTEMS

This professorship is funded by the Joint Federal Government-Länder Tenure Track Programme (“Bund-Länder-Programm zur Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses”).

The initial appointment will be for three years, with the possibility of renewal for a further three years after a positive interim evaluation. After positive evaluation in the final year, the candidate is tenured on a professorial level (W3). This appointment is due to commence in the summer term 2021.

The School of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics seeks applications that establish research in fundamentals of embedded software systems at TUHH. The target group are early-career scientists having achieved a doctoral degree of outstanding quality. Applicants are expected to have undertaken independent research and to be skilled in teaching. They must show a strong interest in interdisciplinary work with other engineering sciences present at TUHH and in application domains such as industrial control systems, automation technology, robotics, mechatronics or wearable systems. We particularly welcome applications from candidates with a background in operating systems including but not limited to:

YOUR TASKS

  • Operating systems for resource-constrained and low-power systems
  • Programming paradigms, languages, and tools for firmware development
  • Real-time operating systems
  • Virtualization and isolation, mixed-critical systems

The successful candidate is expected to offer courses in Computer Science and related degree programs both at the undergraduate and graduate level.
