Professorship (W2, tenure track) for Tumor Metabolism

The Medical Faculty of Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main invites applications for the following position starting at the earliest possible date:

Professorship (W2, tenure track) for Tumor Metabolism

at the “Frankfurt Cancer Institute - Molecular Mechanisms of Therapy Response to Tumor Diseases and Development of Individual Tumor Therapies”. This professorship is funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States (BLP-TT).

The initial tenure track appointment as professor (civil servant or equivalent salaried employee) is for six years according to § 64 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Hessen (HHG). Candidates should not have obtained their PhD at Goethe University Frankfurt or should have worked as a researcher at an external institution for at least two years after their PhD. The doctorate should not date back to more than four years, in case of a completion of residency not more than seven years. Upon positive evaluation, the incumbent will be promoted to a permanent position at a higher level (W3).

The "Frankfurt Cancer Institute" is funded by the state of Hesse as part of the Landesoffensive for the Development of Scientific and Economic Excellence (LOEWE) and aims to elucidate molecular mechanisms of pathophysiology and treatment response to cancer by using an intelligent combination of molecular profiling, mechanistic research and clinical evaluation. Partners in the center are the scientific and clinical departments of the Medical Faculty of the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, the Georg Speyer Haus - Institute of Tumor Biology and Experimental Therapy, the Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim and the Paul Ehrlich Institute in Langen. The professorship is initially located at the Georg-Speyer-Haus, Institute for Tumor Biology and Experimental Therapy (Director: Prof. Dr. Florian R. Greten, www.georg-speyer-haus.de). We are looking for a scientist with internationally proven experience in the field of tumor metabolism in the context of the tumor microenvironment. The applicant is expected to have a high level of academic qualification with international publication performance, proof of effective and modern teaching and continuing education experience and a high degree of scientific commitment.
