in "Educational Science - Teaching and Learning in the Migration Society".

The tenure track professorship is initially limited to three years. The position shall be renewed for a further three years conditional upon the postholder’s performance and agreement. After six years, as a rule, a lifelong professorship will be offered conditional upon the fulfillment of the determined evaluation criteria and hiring requirements for a lifelong professorship. Faculty I

Working field: The future position holder will represent the area of "Educational Science - Teaching and Learning in the Migration Society" across teaching and research and will be actively participating in interdisciplinary exchanges within the department, the faculty and the university. The position holder will cover the following research areas of intercultural and migration-related professional and school development in a data-based way:

  • Identification of new requirements for the professional profile of teachers and specialists in educational work in the context of migration-related school change
  • Identification of educationally appropriate, diversity-sensitive teaching/learning arrangements and successful conditions for their sustainable implementation
  • Identification of intercultural and migration-related professional and school development through systematic networking in regional and local education areas.

Before the interim evaluation, teaching responsibilities amount to 4 hours of lectures and seminars per week, after the interim evaluation they amount to 6 hours of lectures and seminars per week. These are primarily to be provided in the educational sub-programmes of the Master's teaching degree programmes (work studies and vocational education) as well as in the BA degree programme "Culture and Technology (core subject: educational science)" and in the Master's degree programme "Educational Science - Consulting and Organizational Development". Furthermore, active participation in general education modules as well as in teaching collaborations with other relevant subject areas of the department is expected. Courses should be taught in English and German.

Requirements: The candidate must fulfill the hiring requirements pursuant to Section 102c Berlin State Higher Education Act in combination with Section 102a Berlin State Higher Education Act. Of particular importance are a university degree in educational science or a related subject, a strong aptitude for research demonstrated, as a rule, by an outstanding doctorate in educational science as well as teaching skills demonstrated by a teaching portfolio (for further information about the portfolio, see Technische Universität Berlin’s website, quick access 144242). Experiences in empirical research, which understands itself as theory-generating, are expected. The prerequisite is a focus in the area of empirical research on education in the migration society. In addition, the project expects an adeptness in the educational-scientific reflection of heterogeneity and diversity. We expressly welcome corresponding publications in relevant journals with quality assurance and corresponding conference contributions as well as experience in the acquisition and implementation of third-party funding projects and an international orientation. Experience in teacher training is also welcome. Very good english language skills and excellent german language skills are necessary or alternative the abilty to acquire those skills in a appropriate time.
