The Faculty of Natural Sciences invites applications for a
Tenure Track University Professorship
(Salary Scale W2 NBesO leading to a W2)
for Biochemistry of Secondary Metabolites in Plants
starting at the next possible date. The initial appointment will be for 5 years. After positive evaluation the candidate will receive a tenured professorship on the salary scale W2.
The job announcement is part of the Bund-Länder-Programm zur Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses (federal and state program for the promotion of early-career scientists). It aims at reserarchers at an early career stage with an outstanding potential for a successful career in science.
The professorship covers plant biochemistry and plant metabolism in research and teaching. Applicants are expected to have a strong scientific track record in the biochemistry of secondary metabolites found in plants. Expected research topics are in the areas of the biosynthesis and the regulation of secondary metabolites found in plants. An active interaction and cooperation with the plant-scientific working groups of Leibniz Research Initiative „Soil-Plant-Human Interactions“ and the chemical working groups of Centre of Biomolecular Drug Research (BMWZ) is assumed. Active participation in the advancement of biomedical research at LUH is required, that supports the collaboration with partner institutions including the Helmholtz Center for Infection Research Braunschweig and the German Research Center for Environmental Health (Helmholtz Zentrum München). Excellent didactic skills and the participation in advancing the bachelor- and master education in the areas of Biosciences and Life Sciences are expected.
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Higher Education Act of Lower Saxony (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz - NHG). Details will be explained on request.
