W 2 (m/f/o) Chair in International Relations

The following vacancy is to be filled at the Faculty of Human Sciences at the University of Kassel as soon as possible (position number: 33069):

W 2 (m/f/o) Chair in International Relations

according to Section 64 (3) of the Higher Education Act of Hesse with a development commitment after a probationary period of 6 years to receive a permanent contract as a W 3 Professor.

The professorship is funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States.

The subject area is to be represented in teaching and research. The teaching duties extend equally to all courses of study in politics (BA/MA and teaching profession). In research, cooperation with the CALAS regional centres as well as research experience in several Latin American regions is expected. Excellent knowledge of Spanish and a special familiarity with social science issues in the CALAS research priorities “Social Inequalities” and “Ecological Transformation” are expected. A at least very good doctorate in political science with a focus on Latin America and further scientific achievements in the field of international relations are required. Experience in the acquisition of third-party funding and in the management of research units is desirable.

The employment and performance requirements apply pursuant to §§ 61, 64 (3) of the Higher Education Act of Hessen.
