limited term W 2-Professorship (six years) tenure track in
Translational Pathology

to start at the earliest possible time or date.

The future job holder shall be responsible for the subject area subject of translational pathology in research and teaching as well as in patient care.

The priority research area of the Faculty of Medicine at Kiel University is on “Digital Medicine - Recognizing, Understanding, Curing” with the three profile areas of inflammation, neurosciences and oncology.

The applicant must participate in patient care in the Pathology Department and have experience in applying and implementing modern molecular pathological and digital methods. The applicant should be a pathology specialist. We welcome applicants who will provide fresh impetus for a translational pathology of non-haematological tumours and potentially also Digital Medicine. Furthermore, the applicant must be willing to perform interdisciplinary scientific work, possess skills in higher education didactics, including a high level of commitment to teaching, and demonstrate a particular aptitude for academic teaching and successful acquisition of third-party funds for research projects.

After successful evaluation and if the additional requirements of § 62 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Schleswig-Holstein are met, the aim is to grant tenure in the professorship.

To this end at Kiel University, in accordance with the current statutes, an evaluation procedure is carried out, usually one year before the limited professorship ends. More information can be found at www.berufungen.uni-kiel.de (in German).
